この前の曲、「Something in This City Changes People」は、近隣の人達とうまくいかなくなる様子を描いた曲ですが、この「Hollywood」は、その続きと考えていいだろうと思います。「ここじゃ、みんながみんなと競い合っていて、いつも他の人を出し抜こうとしているんだ」ということです。後半のブラスのフレーズがかっこよくて気に入っている曲です。最後の「Heard it through the Grapevine」のGrapevineは電線をブドウの蔓に見立てていて、電信ネットワークのことを指しているんだそうです。
