バッタと蜘蛛が何かの比喩である事は、恐らくこの訳でわかるんではないかと思います。で、何の比喩であるかも、サビの「美しい若者達」の言葉から想像がつくのではないかと思います。そういう歌です。日本人には余りなじみのない固有名詞、Chateau MormontとMalibu seaは、グーグルマップで調べてもらえれば出てくると思います。Chateau Mormontは、いくつか出てきますが、恐らくロサンゼルス、ビバリーヒルズのホテル、Malibu Seaは、ロサンゼルス西の海岸を指しています。
